A stylish and practical sliding door wardrobe

The hallway in Joachim and Christine’s new house is everything they hoped it would be – with plenty of space to welcome guests and a spacious and practical sliding-door wardrobe that makes it easy to keep things tidy. The fact that it also looks really good is no disadvantage.

When Joachim Hatleberg and his wife were building a new house, a spacious entrance hall with a large sliding door wardrobe was at the top of their wish list. In the old house, they had a very small hallway. Now they wanted room for both guests and a large wardrobe. And at Garderobemekka, they found exactly the wardrobe they wanted – only a little better.

“When we arrived at Garderobemekka’s store in Bærum and saw the model on display in matte black with sooty mirrors, we were blown away. There was no turning back! And when we also got a very favorable delivery guarantee, the deal was done,” says Joachim.

Thoughtful design

In the new house, nothing is left to chance. Here, there are muted black and grey tones on the second floor, while the ground floor has been given the color Marrakech, which is a warm beige tone. The combination with foiled sliding doors in matte black is stylish, and with sooty mirrors it was absolutely perfect. Joachim and Christine had originally planned for the doors to have mirrors on half of the surface, but on the advice of the customer advisor at Garderobemekka, they opted for 3/5 mirrors on the middle doors. They are very happy with that.

“Choosing such large mirrors turned out to be a very good idea. Now we get much more out of the mirror, both in terms of practicality and for the feeling of space. And we ended up choosing soft close on the doors, which we’re very happy about afterwards,” says Joachim.

The beautiful hall is a full 12 m2, and with extra high ceilings there is room for a very spacious wardrobe with 4 doors. At the moment there are only two of them in the house, but the couple imagine that the wardrobe will be even more welcome as the family grows. And the feedback from family and friends who come to visit is overwhelmingly positive.

“Everyone’s raving about how nice it’s turned out, the sliding door wardrobe makes the whole entrance area. We’re delighted ourselves – now it’s so easy to hide away everything that creates clutter!” smiles Joachim.

Easy to assemble yourself

As Joachim’s father is a carpenter, the couple chose to assemble the wardrobe themselves. It turned out to be a good experience, as the process was surprisingly easy.

“We followed the recipe on Garderobemekka’s video, and we also received very good guidance. We had a few questions along the way, and then we got hold of an available customer advisor right away. In general, we are very satisfied with all the good service we have received, from start to finish.
