How to measure correctly
Measuring the room in which the wardrobe will be installed is not that difficult, but it is very important to take the right measurements. Be careful, because your measurements will be the starting point for the planning and drawings from Garderobemekka.
If you are unsure about the measurement , ask for a quote based on your own approximate measurements first, and then we will come and check the measurements afterwards if you wish. You can also enter your measurements here, save and send it to salg@garderobemekka.no.
HOW TO MEASURE THE SPACE FOR YOUR SLIDING DOOR WARDROBE
It is the light opening that needs to be measured, i.e. the internal dimensions where the wardrobe will be located. The measurements should be taken where the sliding doors will be, not inside the back wall, as shown in the drawings below.
Measure the height, width and depth of the light opening. Take measurements in several places to ensure that any unevenness in the floor and ceiling is detected and does not cause problems when installing the sliding door wardrobe.
If there are obstacles in the room, such as sockets, switches, cables, trapdoors, window frames, etc. measure the distance to these as well. In this way, you can avoid unexpected problems when installing the wardrobe.
1. Measure the height of the room
Measure the height from floor to ceiling in several places: on the left side, in the middle and on the right side, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure where the sliding doors will be and not inside the back wall. All measurements are given in millimetres.
It’s perfectly normal for there to be some unevenness. This is easily adjusted when installing the wardrobe.

2. Measure the width of the room
Take measurements from wall to wall in several places: at the top, in the middle and at the bottom, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure from the wall itself and not between the moldings in the room. All measurements are given in millimetres.
It is normal for the dimensions to deviate slightly from each other. This is easily adjusted when installing the wardrobe.

3. Measure the depth
Measure the distance from the rear wall to the rear edge of the room where the sliding doors are to be installed (minimum 600 mm out into the room). Take measurements in several places: on the left side, in the middle and on the right side, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure from the wall and not from the skirting board. All measurements are given in millimetres.
It is normal for the dimensions to deviate slightly from each other. This is easily adjusted when installing the wardrobe.
