HOW TO MEASURE CORRECTLY

Measuring the room where the wardrobe will be installed is not difficult, but it is very important to take accurate measurements. Be careful, because your measurements are the starting point for Garderobemekka’s planning and drawings.

If you are unsure about measuring, request a quote based on your own approximate measurements first. We can then come and check the measurements afterwards if you want. You can also enter your measurements here, save the file and send it to salg@garderobemekka.no.

HOW TO MEASURE THE SPACE FOR YOUR SLIDING DOOR WARDROBE

Measure the clear opening, meaning the internal dimensions where the wardrobe will stand. Take the measurements where the sliding doors will be, not at the back wall, as shown in the drawings below.

Measure the height, width and depth of the clear opening. Take measurements in several places so you can detect any uneven floors or ceilings before they create problems during installation.

If there are obstacles in the room, such as sockets, switches, cables, access hatches, window frames and similar items, measure the distance to these as well. This helps avoid unexpected problems when the wardrobe is installed.

1. MEASURE THE ROOM HEIGHT

Measure the height from floor to ceiling in several places: on the left side, in the middle and on the right side, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure where the sliding doors will be, not at the back wall. All measurements should be given in millimetres.

Small differences are completely normal. They are easy to adjust when the wardrobe is installed.

2. MEASURE THE ROOM WIDTH

Measure from wall to wall in several places: at the top, in the middle and at the bottom, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure from the wall itself, not between the mouldings in the room. All measurements should be given in millimetres.

It is normal for the measurements to vary slightly. This is easy to adjust when the wardrobe is installed.

3. MEASURE THE DEPTH

Measure the distance from the back wall to the rear edge where the sliding doors will be installed (minimum 600 mm into the room). Take measurements in several places: on the left side, in the middle and on the right side, as shown in the drawing. Remember to measure from the wall and not from the skirting board. All measurements should be given in millimetres.

It is normal for the measurements to vary slightly. This is easy to adjust when the wardrobe is installed.
