On June 1, 2020, Garderobemekka opened its factory in Baerum. It quickly became too small, and just two months later a larger factory at Skedsmokorset was ready for use. In May 2021, production also started in Trondheim, when Garderobemekka’s parent company Glassmester1 took over the well-known glazier company Kare Larsen AS. Because Glassmester1 and Garderobemekka work with the same materials, glass and aluminium, they now share production facilities both in Eastern Norway and in Trondelag.

Why has Garderobemekka chosen to produce in Norway?
There are many good reasons for this, and they benefit both customers and us. The environmental aspect is one of the most important: we avoid emissions caused by long-distance transport of finished goods from far away. For customers, local production means shorter delivery times. The store also has direct control over both the product and the delivery time, and can take even greater responsibility for the result.
