\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe 130-year-old Swiss villa near the center of Moss was called the “ghost house”. The house was dilapidated and shabby, with rot here and there, and Samera wasn’t completely convinced of her husband’s dream house. But when the previous owners’ application to convert the house into apartments was rejected, the opportunity Waheid had been waiting for presented itself. It was now or never. In April 2021, they took over the stately, listed home and began the painstaking process of bringing the house into the 21st century. \n\n– There was rot in the floor, and in the walls the only insulation was over 100-year-old newspapers. In short: Lots to do,” laughs Samera. <\/em>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn parallel with a thorough renovation from floor to ceiling, from the inside to the outside, a painstaking process of planning colors and style began, room by room. Here, every room was to have its own theme with suitable colors, and not least: Sliding door wardrobes that matched the style and color scheme. At the very top of the wish list was a custom-made walk-in wardrobe that could accommodate the couple’s extensive wardrobe and give them a full overview of their clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry. Since Samera’s first encounter with a walk-in wardrobe on the TV show “Sex and the City”, she had dreamed of having one herself, and when the chance arose, nothing could be left to chance. \n\n– “We visited several different wardrobe suppliers, but no one could give us such good solutions at such good prices as Garderobemekka. And in Tor Arne (regional manager for Greater Oslo, editor’s note) I found the perfect sparring partner, who took my ideas seriously and gave us peace of mind that this was going to be good,” praises Samera. <\/em>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Help from Glassmester1<\/b><\/h4>\nBecause Samera had very specific wishes for her wardrobe. She had taken an American master class in kitchen design and learned that when you enter a room, your gaze goes upwards. According to this theory, all of your cabinets must reach the ceiling. This presented challenges in a house with 3 meter high ceilings. So it had to be doubled and joined, and an extra section had to be placed on top. In addition, one wall is very crooked because the house is old, which presented extra challenges. Another request Samera presented to Garderobemekka meant that the wardrobe company had to involve its sister company Glassmester1. \n\n– “I wanted a glass door inside my wardrobe so I could display my beautiful bags without exposing them to drying dust. Garderobemekka doesn’t have anything like that in its range, and I first thought I’d have to involve a kitchen supplier. But Tor Arne came up with a perfect solution: A glass shower door from Glassmester1,” beams Samera. <\/em>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSo now she can enjoy the beautiful bags every day, without worrying about the leather dusting and drying out. The rest of the wardrobe is decorated in black, with black details, black matte rods and black details. A full-length mirror, also from Glassmester1, sits inside the dressing room. Samera has also made room on the shelves for pictures, decorations and nice books – things that make her happy to look at. She also has many drawers for small items and jewelry, and to make it easier to see the contents of the drawers, they are lined with wallpaper inside. Otherwise, the wardrobe consists of plenty of hanging space for outerwear, dresses, shirts and trousers. Samera has a lot of clothes, and it’s important to see them to remember what she has. \n\n– I’ve lived for 16 years with a wardrobe where I didn’t see what I had. This is a completely different life! I simply buy less clothes now, because I see what I have and wear them. Now my wardrobe is sorted and color coordinated and it’s so much easier to mix and match. Oh my God, I’m so happy,” she says, waving her arm at her gorgeous wardrobe. <\/em>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

General meetings 2022<\/b><\/h4>\nA tour of the venerable Swiss villa shows that Samera and Waheid have really succeeded in the process of bringing the house into our time. Samera calls the style “stately meets 2022” – a stylish mix of the classic and the modern, with warm, muted colors and exotic wallpapers. The style is a result of their own distinct taste and countless hours spent on Pinterest, Instagram and various home magazines, as well as the unique character of the old villa. There are no coincidences here, and the house’s 6 sliding-door wardrobes match the style of the different rooms perfectly. All the wardrobes are black with black fittings and black details, and the mirrors have been chosen to match the colors of the different rooms. \n\n– We don’t have any ordinary mirrors, but have chosen either sooty mirrors or bronze mirrors in all rooms. I think it gives a more modern look. The bronze mirrors were Tor Arne’s idea, and I’m SO happy with them. For example, we have bronze mirrors on the cupboard in the hallway, and it’s a perfect match for the bronze tone in the wallpaper next to it,” explains Samera. <\/em>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
