This quickly became too small, and just two months later a larger factory in L\u00f8renskog was ready for use. In May 2021, production also started in Trondheim, when Garderobemekka’s parent company Glassmester1<\/a> took over the renowned glazier company K\u00e5re Larsen AS<\/a>. Because Glassmester1 and Garderobemekka work with the same materials – glass and aluminum – they now have joint production facilities in both Eastern Norway and Tr\u00f8ndelag, to the great benefit of both companies. <\/p>\n

“The synergy effect is great, making both companies more competitive. Why has Garderobemekka chosen to produce in Norway?<\/h4>\n

“There are many good reasons for this, which benefit both our customers and us. The environmental aspect is one of the most important, as we avoid the emissions that result from long-distance transportation of finished goods from distant countries,” says Tor Arne Moss Westlund, Regional Manager for Southern Norway.<\/p>\n

For customers, the benefits of local production are considerable. The delivery time is necessarily much shorter than with production abroad. What’s more, the store has direct control over both the product and the delivery time – and they have even greater responsibility for the product. Any errors can be corrected quickly, and communication is seamless. In Trondheim, department manager Romundstad has spent more time in the production facilities at Leangen than in the store in recent months, and he is pleased with the record short delivery times. <\/p>\n

“Normal production time here is 3-5 weeks. But we’re flexible, and have had several express deliveries in 1-2 weeks, for a surcharge. The record is 3-day delivery, when the customer was very satisfied,” smiles Romundstad.<\/p>\n
