Bedroom 2024: Finn roen
The new bedroom trends ooze sleep, coziness and relaxation. Here are the most important keywords.
The bedroom trends for 2024 seem to have one main goal: To calm us down so we want to sleep. Soft fabrics, light-tight curtains and calm, muted colors that make you feel relaxed. And last but not least: Clutter makes you anxious, so it has to go. And so should the TV.

GARDEROBEMEKKA delivers and installs bespoke sliding door wardrobes in Asker & Bærum, Oslo, Romerike, Østfold, Forus and Trondheim, at the best price on the market.
First bid: Textiles
Bedrooms should now be full of textiles. Soft carpets that you can bury your toes in, long light-tight curtains that make the room dark and soft, a bed full of soft pillows and blankets, and preferably also a fabric-covered headboard. Are you getting hotel vibes? That’s exactly right. We also get associations with luxury hotels from the next point, namely:
Muted colors
The colors in the bedroom should also give you peace of mind. Of course, we’ve done away with all the white surfaces long ago; now it should be warm and cozy. Nature is still an important source of inspiration, and green tones combined with natural, light shades, plants and wooden furniture can give you a lovely feeling of sleeping outside. If you’re drawn to warm colors, rust, peach, dusky pink and warm yellow are all great for bedrooms. Think about which colors make you feel relaxed and find your favorites!
Get inspired by Jotun Lady’s color chart for 2023. Here you can choose between three main trends: Natural blues inspired by the sea and nature, muted pastels ranging from positive yellows to soft greens and muted mint tones, and warm, rustic shades inspired by different cultures around the world.
But then there was the mess.

Hide the clutter and the TV screen
We sleep best in calm surroundings. That means the bedroom shouldn’t be overflowing with clutter. How do we achieve this in practice? A sliding door wardrobe can be the solution to the clutter problem. Here you can hide not only clothes and bedding, you can also have shelves for other kinds of clutter that create disorder in the interior. And why not hide the TV behind a sliding door? The TV in the bedroom is out – the blue light disturbs your sleep. If you’re still addicted to watching TV in bed, you can effectively hide the screen behind a sliding door when it’s not in use.
When it comes to getting sliding doors that complement your cozy, soothing style, the possibilities are endless. Because did you know that at Garderobemekka you can choose from over 2000 colors for your sliding doors? So you can get exactly the look you want. And if you need help with the design, you’ll get the best advice from our skilled professionals, such as regional manager Tor Arne Moss Westlund.
The placement of profiles and different panels affects the atmosphere in the room. We are happy to give you advice on how to improve the feeling of space! When it comes to bedroom mirrors, it makes a lot of sense to choose sooty or bronze-colored mirrors – or no mirrors at all. Mirrors bring in the light and amplify it. The trend is for darker mirrors in the bedroom, which is a good choice,” says Westlund.
